The Word by Alana Springsteen

The section order was done in a way that maps the author’s growth from teenage depression to the more enlightened state she somehow reached – thus starting with the macabre and continuing on to the more joyous. The Book of The Damned A collection of creepy, disturbing poems focused around fear, death, and hauntings. In some cases, the poems deal with suicide and, more often than not, are from the ghost’s point of view. A number of them have to do with other sides of death, like murder or vampirism. With the highest respect to all who read this section, may they give you nightmares. Anger 101 A collection of poems that capture the author’s hardest words of rage. Writing this section allowed the author to cry, vent, let off stress. May they help you to do the same. Inspiration: A collection of basic poetry ranging from romantic to dedicated. It’s everything someone would expect a poem to be (i.e., emotional, somewhat sappy, and on the lighter side of things). The dedicated poems are meant to be a tribute rather than mere poetry. Enjoy! “I hope you enjoy reading my work as much as I enjoyed documenting it.” – Alana Springsteen
